I remember when I made the decision thoughtfully of what I wanted to do with my life. This was something I had developed and fell in love with daily. It was in my mind, the perfect thing for me to do, one I could not get bored with and seemed to be glamorous enough for me.
I wanted to be a writer.
And it started out to be a writer, which then developed into wanting desperately to be an editor. Then I wanted to be both. Still do…just a little more realistic than fourteen.
Now…I a writer and an editor. In a totally different way than I thought. I write social media, advertising, and technical writing and editing for a driven woman working in the finance and child services fields.
It fulfills my need to express myself in a variety of ways that are new and constantly changing. This is perfect for me because I definitely need to stay challenged…or I’ll make up something to keep me challenged. I am excited to say, I am growing content in my position…but am always ready for what else may come.
So, to any aspiring writers out there: go for it, but don’t be afraid to look in unconventional places and for outstanding opportunities that may not have the label “writer” on the package, but have lots of opportunities for expression!
